Students Rural Exploration / Internship Programme is a novel initiative launched under the ‘Holistic Agricultural Development Plan’, Project-20 “Innovative Extension Approaches for Promoting Agriculture in J&K”. It is first of its kind in the Agricultural Education System of the Country. A novel and innovative approach for continued exposure of the graduate, post-graduate and doctoral students to insitu Real-Life Challenges in agriculture and allied sectors shall provide a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the social and economic realities of rural areas. Embracing the programme in regular curriculum from inception shall help the students to groom their skills, and conceptualize and reorient the technical knowledge acquired in the class rooms and laboratories through a process of Real-Time On-field Testing. The programme aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experiences, fostering a deeper understanding of rural life and its challenges in general and agriculture in particular.
